Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett declared that he was planning to donate over 80 percent of his fortune to charitable causes. He increased the percentage to 99.9% in 2020. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the biggest beneficiary. It was founded by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder, and his wife Melinda. They focused on world health and education. Bill and Buffett have been close friends since the early 1990s. The other organizations receiving donations included those run by Buffett's three children as well as the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named after his late wife. It is focused on women's rights to reproductive health and funded college scholarship programmes. In the year 2010, Buffett and Gates formulated the Giving Pledge. This pledge invited other wealthy individuals to contribute a significant portion of their fortunes to charities.
